You’ll receive our sewing patterns in A4, US Letter, A0, and projector formats. This covers all common formats, but not every company offers that. Many designers only provide A4 or Letter PDFs. So what can you do if you want to convert an A4 pattern into an A0 file?
A0 sewing patterns are printed on large sheets using a professional wide‑format printer. One A0 sheet equals 16 A4 pages, so you get your pattern on just a few big pages in high print quality.
Benefits:
A0 patterns are also:
You can use online plotting services to convert A4 to A0, but they’re often pricey and you pay for each pattern. This is great if you don’t want to learn new software or only need to convert a few older patterns.
You can also convert A4 to A0 yourself using free software, then have it printed.
There are several programs you can use to convert DIN A4 formats to DIN A0 formats. We deliberately omit paid programs that professionals use (e.g., Adobe InDesign).
| Tool | Price | Difficulty | Ideal for |

PDFStitcher is free and made specifically for sewing patterns. It’s fast and straightforward.
We provide a tutorial here on how to use PDFStitcher (best viewed on a laptop/desktop/ tablet).
Steps:
Advantage: No scaling issues, no complicated settings.
If you want to edit lines, adjust layers, or move parts, Inkscape is ideal.
Tip: Perfect if you want to customize your sewing pattern.
Acrobat Pro is not free, but it is more widespread than, for example, Adobe InDesign. Adobe offers an easy way to merge PDFs.
Important: Always ensure 100% scaling.
Another advantage: With Adobe Pro, you can also use layers. With our sewing patterns, for example, you can select only your own size (as a layer). This is much clearer, saves ink and time.
To ensure your A0 sewing pattern remains correct:
Converting A4 to A0 is absolutely doable. With tools like PDF Stitcher or Pattern Projector, you can create clean, accurate A0 files without losing quality. It saves time, avoids taping errors, and gives you a professional result ready for a copy shop, plotter, or projector.
